Maggie at 4.5

Maggie’s half birthday was on April 7th and we celebrated with a colorful cake!  (We’re sitting together on the couch watching the “grownup” Beauty and the Beast while I attempt to write.)

Maggie girl,

  • are determined and so enthusiastic
  • are obsessed with using the remotes yourself
  • play with magnatiles, barbies, and babies
  • love to ride your bike everyday
  • want to be with people as much as possible
  • wake me up almost everyday and mostly wait for your clock to turn green first
  • love broccoli
  • are active
  • love treats, TV, and books
  • have finally started to say you are an artist and even that you want to be one when you grow up!
  • have finished your third year of preschool!
  • have grown so tall in the last few months
  • want your hair down
  • are excited about the move
  • put your shoes on the wrong feet most days

  • are OBSESSED with your baby sister

Maggie at 3.5

In April, we celebrated Maggie’s half birthday (she doesn’t really get that yet but any excuse for a cupcake is a good enough reason for her!)

Maggie at 3.5 is exciting!

Right now, Maggie….

Loves to snack

No longer eats dairy (it “hurts her tummy”)

Has stopped napping for the most part

Is incredibly excited about her baby sister and talks to her already

Loves to play with her friends, her dolls/stuffed animals,

Loves to swim and is confident!

Can be very particular about what she wears

Is still obsessed with Sofia the First (its the best when she sings along in the car, her favorite song is “Anything”)

Things “anything” means nothing (ie if I ask her what she’s doing she says, “Anything”.)

Gets really sad and upset when she thinks she’s in trouble

Loves to paint

Loves to watch shows

Loves to go out and to help Mommy get ready and dressed up

Is super excited about her new umbrella and clock

Has recently started asking for a bicycle

Loves to try the (finally fixed) red truck with her friends in the cul-de-sac

Loves to buckle in her babies as well as herself! (new skill!)

Loves to talk about things she’ll do for the baby

Doesn’t wear her princess dresses nearly as often

Dresses up in accessories (princess shoes, sunglasses on her head, fan, headband)

Can be very moody in the morning (or any time of day…)

I recently asked Maggie some questions:

What is your favorite thing to eat?:  Cereal (eating it while I asked)

What is your favorite show?: Sofia

What is your favorite thing to do with Jackson?: Run around

What is your favorite thing to do with daddy?: Play

Mommy?: Play with you

What do you think about having a baby sister?: Love her

What do you want to do at the beach?: Be with you and the baby

“I like playing with my baby sister and doing stuff with her.”

Fave color?: Yellow

Fave thing to wear?: Dresses

What do you like to do with your friends?: Play with them (and play with baby sister, she likes this cereal right?)

She continued….

“Im going to play with my baby sister when she pops out of your tummy.  Im going to play with her and help you change her clothes.  We can put some cozy pajamas on her.  I can hold her when she pops out like this.  She’s gonna love that .  She’s gonna love me.  She’s gonna love her mommy her brother and her dad.  She doesn’t know who holly is.  I know holly but the baby doesn’t.  I tell her who her is.  Ill tell her right now”.

Maggie girl, we love you and can’t wait to see how you keep growing and changing (and staying the same too).  The next few months are going to be exciting for sure!

Maggie at 3

In October, our Maggie turned three.

Maggie Grace-

I want to try and capture a picture of what you are like right now. This will be tough.  You and Jackson are so awesome and interesting, I know its impossible to try and remember everything about you but I’m going to try!

You are so much fun.  A few months ago you discovered Sofia the first and have been in princess mode ever since.  You like to wear princes dresses as much as you can, and I let you wear them almost anywhere.  You continue to LOVE all things baby.  You are so sweet and gentle with actual babies.  You’ve grown up a lot in the last couple of months.  In September you stopped using diapers and in October you stopped using pacis (this is a big deal)!  You had the idea to put all of your pacis in a gift bag to send to a baby who needs them.  You are such a big girl and you love reminding us of that and doing things “all by yourself”.  You love playing outside with your friends and school has been really fun this year (you go on Tuesday and Thursday mornings).  You talk a lot and we love it; it is so fun.  It seems like everyday you are surprising me with something you are saying.  You’re theatrical.  You take a while to fall asleep at night; you talk and sing and play in your crib for a while.  You are very expressive. You like to paint pictures for specific people, especially Daddy.  You are brave and confident and (mostly) independent.  I think you and me are pretty similar which is super fun but a little tricky sometimes!  You still take naps and you like puzzles.

We love you so much Maggie Grace!  You are a precious blessing!

You love….

having your hair french braided (specifically in one elsa braid)

watching shows and movies (doc mcstuffins, sofia, frozen, tangled)

playing outside with our friends (without shoes and in a princess dress)

to sing (you can be very particular about which songs – princess songs)

painting your nails

snacks (almost anything and especially Ms. Christine’s snacks)

your brother

worship at church

your dad

your mom

your grandparents and cousins

parties! (you talked about your birthday party for months, insisting on having it at our house)

dressing up (obviously)

opening the van door by yourself

purple and pink

blaze pineapple pizza

You are not a fan of…

porkchop licking you

porkchop taking your food

potty breaks

having your teeth brushed

Daddy traveling for work

    maggie at 12 months

(this is a little, or a lot, or embarrassingly late)

maggie is almost 16 months old, but better late than never right??!

at 12 months, maggie was working on crawling, pulling up in her crib, had survived mommy going away for a few nights, had a sleepover at pop and memaw’s, loved playing with her brother, loved her cup and table food, and was an all around joy!
